Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Dunk Calculator.
Acceptance of terms
By using Dunk Calculator, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Use of the calculator
Dunk Calculator is a free educational tool provided for general informational purposes. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes, and you are welcome to reference or link to our results and guides.
You may not scrape, mirror, or republish the site's content in bulk, present our calculations as your own, or use automated tools in a way that degrades the service for other visitors.
The calculator runs in your browser and requires JavaScript. We provide it as-is and may change, improve, or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice.
Accuracy of results
Every result is an estimate. When you do not supply a measured standing reach, we estimate it at roughly 1.33 times your height — a population average that will be several inches off for anyone with unusually long or short arms. The running-approach bonus (about 4 inches) and the one-hand and two-hand rim clearances (about 6 and 9 inches) are typical figures, not values measured for you.
Your real dunk threshold depends on factors this tool cannot see: hand size and whether you can palm the ball, takeoff mechanics, footwear, court surface, fatigue, and the actual height of the rim you are jumping at. Treat the output as a target to train toward, not a verdict.
No professional advice
The results do not constitute medical, physiotherapy, coaching, or other professional advice. Jump training — particularly plyometrics, depth jumps, and heavy lower-body lifting — carries a genuine risk of injury to the knees, ankles, and lower back.
Consult a qualified physician, physiotherapist, or strength and conditioning coach before starting any training program, especially if you are under 18, returning from injury, or have any existing joint, bone, or cardiovascular condition. Attempting to dunk, and training to do so, is done entirely at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
Dunk Calculator is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of this site, from reliance on any result it produces, or from any training you undertake as a result. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Third-party links
Some pages link to third-party calculators and resources. Those sites are not under our control; we do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Review their own terms before relying on them.
Intellectual property
The text, guides, design, and calculation implementations on this site are owned by Dunk Calculator. The underlying physics — projectile motion and the rim-clearance arithmetic — is public knowledge and free for anyone to use.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised terms.
